Hospitals

Environmental Waste Compliance Ltd (EWC) is the leading Compliance Specialist for Healthcare Risk Waste Management.  Our team have worked in Ireland and across Europe with producers, carriers and treatment facilities auditing and advising on compliant healthcare risk waste management practices.

We have worked with private hospitals to complete Risk Assessment and Waste Audits to identify areas of improvement pertaining to old building imagewaste segregation/ packaging, training requirements and formal reporting.

As you are aware the Waste Management Act 1996 and 2001 places the primary responsibility for waste and its proper disposal on the producer of the waste.  The producer is also responsible for the safety of staff, contractors and members of the public who may be exposed to the waste.  As outside consultants, staff in general, are more comfortable raising any queries or concerns with us concerning their interaction with healthcare risk waste.  This dialogue enables EWC complete a very accurate waste audit report for management.

Our services are supported by fully qualified DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) specialised in the healthcare sector.  The role of the DGSA is to work with management to put systems in place to prevent risks inherent in the handling and management of healthcare risk waste in regard to staff, patients, general public, property and the environment.
